The Strong, Silent Type

What a great tuck. May I ask how is your overall experience with the Titan?
It's somewhat surprising for me that the Titan has not made its way into the overland community. It's more capable than the Tundra.

I've had a ton of 4x4s, old Toyotas, a Chevy and a bunch of Fords. Nothing newer than 1990. I always had all these awesome ideas about them and built a bunch of them, several for mud racing, but the last few for adventure. The problem was, they all had 30 year old components that my anxiety wouldn't let me trust to take far from home. This year, after being treated for anxiety I took a huge leap and my first loan ever, and bought my 2013 Frontier. Other than removal of all the low hanging plastic and the fairly tame all terrain tires that came on it, it's 100% stock. So far we've taken it to two 4x4 beaches, every dirt road within 50 miles and on 5 National Forest trails. These trails have been on my bucket list since 10th grade, 17 years ago. We love our truck and can't wait to use it more.

I didn't realize it til we got home, but in each of these pictures across the valley on the Vepco Rd trail, you can see where the other picture was taken.

So far we've had no issues anywhere we've been, but we want to build it a little.. My wishlist for the truck includes a 2" lift, 235/85 tires, ARBs and a winch/bumper. My wife's wishlist is skid plates and sliders. We also need to figure out a camping setup with our autistic 6 year old son in mind.

Congrats on the new truck Random.. Enjoy Brother!
Thanks, it's the nicest truck I've ever driven. My wife and I are taking it up to the mountains again this week. I took a couple days off, cashed in my Hilton points and we're taking an early anniversary trip.

I've checked several trails off my almost twenty year old list. We ran Long Run to Hall Spring, then took that out to 33, jumped over to Skidmore Fork and Dunkel Hollow to Flagpole Knob. This stock truck continues to impress me, though I'm happy I removed the low hanging plastic and moved the trailer plug into the bumper.

I'm still having trouble deciding where to start with mods, but I think a set of tires is getting the nod by necessity. These Nexen ATs do surprisingly well, but are nearing the end of their life cycle and have at least one plug each.

Here are a few of my new to me 2018 Titan that I bought last March. After 25 years of owning only Toyotas I made the switch and could not be happier. I think it may be the best truck I've ever owned. Most of the pics are from a quick overnighter in the Taylor Park area just west of Buena Vista CO. The last one is just from a a spot about 5 or so minutes from the house.
