No Hummer! Mega Cruiser!

Interesting. 85k$ though? Sounds a bit much. It sure looks H1 like to me. Enough to wonder what the lawyers are going to say.

Can't wait to look at the videos.

So I wonder if that 4cyl TD is enough power for it. Curb wieght is over 6000lbs. Does it have the portal IFS like the hummer?

This thing has been floating around as a concept for a couple of years now. I have to say, as a loyal Toyota driver, that I was a little bit peeved by such a ripoff. It reminded me of the old days when all anyone thought the Japanese capable of was copying American products.

Also, the suspension on the MegaCruiser (even the name annoys me!) looks positively spindly compared to the massive A-arms on the Hummer.

I wish it would go away! Bring us a turbo-diesel Tacoma, Toyota!

Have a buddy going being deployed to Iraq tell me about the new driving class that some of the guys are undergoing. Seems as though the new armor their putting on the H1 is extremely heavy. 'S matter of fact he stated that turning at anything over 10 mph will cause the vehicle to lift tires! It happened to him and he mentioned that he broke some suspension component when they did the maneuver.

The "UP" armor Humvee is used mainly as a patrol vehicle (paved or hard packed dirt roads) and not inteneded for extreme off road use. They are basically designed to help deflect and absorb the impact of IEDs. The Humvee is a very good vehicle and it shows with all the modifications we are able to do to it. No vehicle is perfect.

I totally agree. They weren't doing anything crazy. I believe they were on post at Fort Hood. Just trying to get used to the new weight. I don't think I'd be comfortable in a vehicle that wide and heavy.

A week or so ago I did happen upon a brand new Mog out on the highway. Didn't realize they were that big!

I think the Humvee has pretty much silenced its original detractors. The military made a PR mistake by positioning it as a "replacement" for the jeep, thus leading to obvious comparisons of weight, cost, etc.

But I still have to laugh when I pull up next to spotlessly detailed H1s in Tucson, decked out in Hella HID lights and brush guards for everything from the turn signals to the stereo, driven by some pale-faced CPA in a white shirt and tie talking into his cell headset.
