That sounds about right to me. You should be able go up to 20-25 seconds and still have minimal star movement.

You're in a great spot for it! I might head up to Hawks Ridge later, or early in the morning.

Only a couple miles away, and far enough from the lights of town.

My back usually wakes me up around 0400-0500, so that would be a good time to go.:coffeedrink:

Anybody have any luck?

I checked at midnight and the sky was clear, no aurora borealis. About five years ago we were having amazing northern lights, filling the whole sky. But the last few years have been quite. It will be nice if we start to have more activity again.

I searched a cool foreground and was looking over Lake Ontario, but got no show.

A friend who lives up the shore made some good photographs of the northern lights over the lake. He said they only lasted about half an hour. I will get a link to his images tonight.
