Northwest Meet n Greet?

I have been to the park in the past and was free to wander around the grass area, which is the large majority of the park, on both sides of the border. The park is located between the border inspection stations on I-5 for the USA and Canada. I don't know if you can park in the Canadian parking lot and go to the parking lot on the USA side to look at other vans. I'll try to get up there and see if there is a Ranger I can ask.

I went up to Blaine this morning to look at the parking at Peace Arch park for a possible M&G. I didn't drive across the border. I parked in the Peace Arch WA State Park lot and walked across to the kitchen dining area in the BC Park area, not quite to the BC side parking lot. There were a fair number of tourists doing to same thing, out walking around the park, and taking photos of the arch and the gardens. There is a large area with tables for eating on both sides of the border, and kitchens that can be rented on both sides too. I doubt we'd need a kitchen with a group of camping rigs in attendance.

If we meet there, the vans will be in the parking lots at the south end (WA side) and north end (BC side) of the park, with a few minutes of walking between them. Not a long walk at all, maybe 5 minutes, and mostly across grass fields. Someone from BC mentioned not wanting to cross the border, so this could be a place to meet for those who don't want to.

Any suggestions for a date? Sundays or week nights are good for me.

Also, do you want it to be just vans invited or open to all Expo rigs? As much as I want to check out the other vans, would there be enough people interested if it's just vans?

Here is some info on the parks: http://www.peacearchpark.org/index.htm

I walked from the Washington park lot to just south of the BC park lot and saw no one paying any attention to me because of it. I wouldn't be surprised if someone was watching me, through a long lens no doubt, :Astrologist: but since I wasn't doing anything but walking around snapping a few photos, it seemed to be no big deal. I was going to ask a park ranger about walking between lots, but didn't see any.

I saw that the park could be rented for weddings. It made me wonder how, if wedding guests came from both countries and met there in the park, that the Border Patrol could keep track of who came from where, and did anyone leave gifts with someone from the other country?...

I had in mind to invite the Mitsubishi Delica crowd as well. Heck even the Vanagons are OK with me. I'm all about van love.
