Not My Usual Run Report - Ringing in the New Year

Let me start by saying my photos here were done on my iPhone 6 Plus, so don't expect the normal quality you would see from us. Honestly I'm just starting this thread so the others on the trip can find a spot to post their photos too. TTFN

We started out trip in Glamis. Wheeled around in the Creation Crawler, motored up Oldsmobile Hill, Burned a couple Christmas Trees (with a side of Gasoline), witnessed a nice Side by Side burn to the ground, rang in the new year and moved on to the Mojave Road for a 2pm start on the 1st of January. Our Mojave trip had a lot less photos involved but it was a great time with a few ExPo members. Socal Tom (Tom) is an amazing dude. Anyone that has the opportunity to spend a few days on a trip with this guy is in for stellar conversation, a positive attitude, and if you're lucky a few fresh baked cinnamon rolls from his on board oven :Wow1:

Anywho... here are the shots from the trip!!!

Thanks for the kind words. I really had a great time, you guys made me feel very welcome. The cinnamon rolls are courtesy of Pillsbury and Camp Chef. If you are going to haul around an oven, you should use it! I'm going to start working on a pie for the next trip.:)

Here are a few of my pics from the trip.IMG_0752.jpg The campsite from the first nite at Balancing Rock. ( Notice the snow in the background). My thermometer read 23F that morning. On the last day it read a chilly 17F!, even though we were down to 900ft elevation at Razor Rd.

IMG_0770.jpg Some of the snow we saw constantly until the last day.
IMG_0800.jpg Evidence that my little homemade teardrop made the trip.

The teardrop going down the wash to Bert Smith's Place ( the most technical section we saw on our trip)

Great trip with a wonderful bunch of people.

Here are my photos from an iPhone 5s and a kind of crappy Canon point and shoot.

Day 1: Thursday 1/1/15, afternoon

A familiar sight for anyone who has started the road

Discussing campsite options, probably

Balancing Rock Camp was chosen. Great choice

Albeit slightly cold. A trend for the trip!

Morning came with clear blue skies.

It was great having Mr. Chase along with us for an evening. Hope you're feeling better, sir. Your wife as well. Thanks for the stories.

Afore mentioned cinnamon rolls! What a treat to have those on a cold morning

Mrs. CTC serving up some pancakes

Scott, Tom and Darin

Then it was time to hit the trail!

Tom's Off Road Teardrop following Darin's 12 valve.

Continued.

Hey, I think we saw you on the trip, out past Barstow on the 15. Did you notice a dark zombie 88 suburban with the big bumper as we passed? I remember commenting to my wife about the cool teardrop trailer behind the Jeep.

We camped out that weekend in Afton Campground with friends

All the best!
