NP271. NV271 what's the difference

HI all.
Like the title says whats the difference between the
NP271 transfer case and the NV271 transfer case collecting parts for a future 4x4 conversion.
and a friend of a friend is selling one that's he say he took out from a -99 7.3 F250 my van is a 01 7.3 E350 XLT
did some google search but its still not clear.

to my just-had-5-beers recollection New Venture (NV) became New Process (NP), or vice-versa, and they're essentially the same company (please, greater minds, clarify). i think my 2004 "NV" 271 t-case might even say "New Process Gear Co." on the ID tag. More importantly '99 and '01 are the same engine variant and should accept the same case with the proper amount of persuasion. i'd get it off your buddy but then, i'm impulsive.
Chris-UJOINT will clear this up in a jiffy.....back to the sauce.....

Cool thanks Guys. I called up the link from mgmetalworks just to be super sure and they confirm that it is the same transfer case.
So SHAFT your right add some more beer's your brain is still working :friday:
I'm going to pick it up tomorrow.
