Ocala and Gainesville Florida Weekend Trip

Hey everyone. I spent last weekend in the Ocala National Forest with a day trip to Gainesville to check out the Sweetwater Wetlands Park out there. It was the first multi-day trip in my 2016 Subaru Outback.

When they say the Outback was built for Forest roads, they mean it! I probably put on about 60-80 miles of dirt roads and it was super smooth the whole way. My trip MPG was 24 MPG with a loaded car and RTT which is WAY better than my old Hummer H3 that would have been around 12 MPG.

Enough of that, on to the photos! I'm still learning my camera and just starting off as a photographer but I'm having tons of fun and hope to get better as I learn more. I've posted some of these to My Instagram, but some haven't made it up there just yet. So you all are getting a sneak peak :sombrero:.

Nice photos. Be sure to check out Payne Prairie next time you're near Gainesville if you're looking for some great bird watching/photography.

Any other suggestions? I hope to do this route in about 10 days. Flexible in the quantity of days but was thinking 2-3 days. I'll be coming from Destin, FL and heading up the coast back to the Washington Dc area. Thanks for any feedback!

A stop at Devil's Millhopper State Park is worth it if you're in the area. It only takes an hour or so but it's a pretty impressive sinkhole. I don't live int he area anymore so can't be of much more help.
