October Canoe Trip

Thought I would share some pictures from a little canoe trip a friend and I did over the weekend. These are from the Proud Lake Recreation Area in SE Michigan, and along the Huron River to just north of Kent Lake

Car loaded up at 6am, 44* temp

Hit the water at about 6:40

Proud Lake

Short easy portage at the Proud Lake Dam, below the dam the Huron River

As the sun rose, the wind picked up.

Wind going across Hubble Pond

Portage at Hubble Dam, they have nice rollers installed

Back on the river below Hubble Dam for the final stretch to our takeout at Dawson Road

The fall colors are just starting to really turn here in SE Michigan

Take out and all loaded up - we were off the river by 11am. Really awesome morning on the water

Exactly, full time job and two young kids means my fun happens in short bursts
