Odyssey 1700 In Primary Location?

I have an 04 4Runner with a V8. I have heard you can drop an Odyssey 1700 battery in the stock primary location with only minor lengthening of the negative cable.

The 13" width of the 1700 seems to be too wide for the stock battery tray. Has anyone here installed the 1700 in the stock battery location? Were any mods required? Thanks.

I did a PC1700 in the stock location on a 06 Tacoma (my understanding is that the 04 4runner and 05+ tacoma are basically the same vehicle). I put a 5/8" peice of aluminum plate under the battery. Mine is a V6 not a V8 though.

Cool, looks like it took a shoehorn to slide it in there, but you had just enough room. Thanks for the pic.
