OEM Locking IRS Differentials

I am a long time reader of this forum, but haven't had much reason to post yet due to my lack of Pajero/Montero.

I have been interested in the NM/NP (Gen III) models, and recently have been in touch with a colleague who has family in South Africa, which, as many of you know, received the NM/NP Pajeros with the factory locking rear differentials.

If I were to get used factory differential assemblies imported to the US, who here would be interested?

I need to have a gauge of demand before I can work out the price structure.

For me to import one unit will be ~$2k, but it goes down the more units I import. My goal is to get it down below the install cost of an ARB locker.

Please PM me if you are interested, and let me know what you rough go/no-go price is.

Try the UK too, especially eBay, the shoguns up to 05 (not positive on that) came with a rear locker that can be got secondhand for reasonable money, on my phone at the minute, but I'll get some links when I'm on the computer

That seems really expensive. But I am curious about them as well as lockers are still on my list of things to get for my '03, let me know what you find.

It's the fixed costs associated with importation that makes low numbers more expensive. Those become a smaller percentage of the part price when the quantity goes up.

FYI... ARB is dropping the price on their lockers $100 across the board.

I'd go ARB. Reliable plus you get onboard air for your tires. Simple setup. Unless you can buy crazy cheap...

I would be interested but like montypower said it would have be significantly (several hundred dollars) cheaper than ARB for me to look at it instead of ARB.
