Off Brand Android Tablets with GPS

I have one of the cheapest tablets out there that I use with Gaia. It is an Insignia (Best Buy) 8" tablet I bought a year and a half ago for $60 new. The tablet is just okay for general use but it does fine for navigation, follows the downloaded tracks no problem.
About six months ago I purchased a Samsung Tab A (2017) 8" for under $200, and now have a basis for comparison with the $60 Insignia 8" from a year and a half ago. In general use, the Samsung kicks the Insignia's ass in many ways. The Insignia is laggy in response to commands, doesn't keep up with videos off the internet, and downloads maps much slower. The Samsung does everything right now, streams without buffering, and downloads Gaia maps in a fraction of the time.

Having said that, the Insignia, using Gaia on the trail, follows tracks just fine (about all I need for navigation), and would be no great loss if stolen from my rig.

Samsung 7" Tab 3 Lite refurb, was inexpensive (iirc $79 at the time), built-in GPS works fine. Android OS is dated and can't be updated further, but I don't care, does what I need.
I chose the 7" because it aligned with my dash setup and then-planned entertainment system mod.
Only problem with my dash mount is sun exposure, thing has a temp sensor and halts re-charging when the device gets hot. I just put my hat over it as a sun shade, when needed. OR de-mount the tablet to put it in front of my AC vents for a while.

Did a topic write-up on it, I'll go find the link

I'm considering a DJ Spark quadcopter soon and probably an IPad Air tablet to complement it and would then re-work the dash tablet mount setup for the iPad. Have to see if there are iPad app variants for my GPS-nav choices and my Torque app. Have to get an iPad-flavored bluetooth OBD-II dongle to replace my current setup.
