Off Road Camp Trailer Build

That is an awesome trailer!

Can I ask how big the main box ended up being? And the tires - they look like 35s?

The box is 48" wide, 56" long, and 20" high. The fridge takes up a ton of room, but with the tent on top with bedding in it, water tank, the awnings attached as well, there really isn't a whole lot we need to put in the box. Just our clothing bags, dry food, camp chairs, and a propane tank. Plenty of room for firewood or whatever else we want to bring. That also leaves the cab of the Land Cruiser empty, which is really nice.

Yes, they're 35's.

Stripped the trailer back down to paint, wrap, and line it.

As always, wonderful wife helping out with the POR15

Waited 24 hrs for POR to cure, then scuffed the bottom and fenders to apply Raptorliner

Doing it right! Saving this to have some inspiration for when I commence my trailer build. Where/how did you learn to weld and fab so well?

Pilot or Mechanic? Just curious, your average every day Joe doesn't have Helicopter posters on their walls, just curious :victory:

Just goofing off in the garage, no classes or formal training.

Pilot. Left over posters from our old reservations department!

Never too much table space, so I made a detachable table/bar that stores upright in the longer storage area.

Found a wood table top at Ikea that was well built. A little big, so I trimmed it down to 19"x54"

Attached one half of the railing onto the trailer

The other half to the table top

And now we have double the table surface area as before!

Great build!

What type of rail/strip is that you're using for the table surface to the trailer? Where did you get it?

TIA

Finally got the trailer painted, sealed, lined, and reassembled.

Put a faucet on the side of the trailer. There is a small velcro strap to keep it secured to the trailer when not in use.

Sink installed in wood table.

Here is the table stored and latched into place. The 'bottom' of the table is in a channel to keep it in place.

Wife and I went out to Valley of Fire the other night to enjoy an amazing sunset! Still enjoying the trailer setup, and so far, wouldn't change anything about it. We are taking it to Durango/Telluride area in August and are really excited to use it!

Hopefully my pictures will be better from here on out. Finally got an actual camera, so no more phone pictures!
