OIL FILTER ISSUES....

So Like most here I ran the Toyota oil Filters until they stopped making the larger version. Then i switched to the WIX(Napa Gold) series which I have always used on my Diesel rigs(Cummins, and Isuzu/Duramax). Recently there was a post on MUD about the WIX filters having valve problems causing loss of oil pressure... I'm not sure if anybody here is aware of this but just wanted to put it out there. Think I'll switch back to the small Toyota filter now....

Fwiw they didn't stop making the large Japanese 1qt filter (41010), they just quit selling it in the US. We (Cruiser Outfitters) still import and stock them, but the price has become a bit crazy. But, folks still buy the, and I too still run them.

Too many plans, not enough time
what am i missing here... I have a 97 and it shows a small oil filter for my model, so I just buy the ones for 91-94. they are huge. is the "big" filter bigger than that?

He is most likely talking about the made in Japan filter vs the made in (hmmm I forget where the new ones are made) filters.

Although I have hated fram filters my entire life the new fram ultra synthetic ones are getting amazing reviews on bob is the oil guy and also many of my fellow lexus LS owners now run them due to increased recommendations for them on club lexus.

Don't know if its applicable here, but on my 22re truck a Motorcraft FL1A is a larger than stock filter that fits just fine. Made by Ford too, instead of offshore. Might be an option, but I'm unsure if its larger than a Landcruiser filter (don't own one)
