Great thread. Here's mine, a 1994 2nd-gen Hilux Surf 3.0 turbodiesel on 33"s, built for touring/overlanding/surf exploration.

It’s been over 200 posts since I was last on this thread, but it’s time to update. I just picked up a 89 4Runner yesterday for relatively cheap. It’s a 3.0 auto, which wouldn’t normally be my first choice, but it seems to be pretty solid so far. It needs the rear wheel areas patched, and a front fender, but is otherwise pretty rust free. It has very recent OME suspension, 31” BFG ATs and Warn premium hubs. I bought it from the second owner who’d had it for 11 years and had an inch thick stack of receipts for work done.B494C5E7-D79E-40A3-8E04-FF9C98D97BE8.jpegC35AE2E7-41A4-474E-A2AB-97C2E2DD5494.jpeg

Nice find!

That makes me miss my '85. 3" Downey lift and header. One of those... should of never sold it. But it was a PA vehicle...it was getting rusty under there.

Before the lift....couldn't wait to get those stock steelies off there...and now they are in vogue.

Nice truck Clutch! One of my friends in high school had a brand new ‘85 to play with. I had an ‘82 pickup. His (dad’s actually) was the one year only white/gold/white color. It came with the chrome steel wheels. I’m looking forward to getting some weld in panels for the rear wheel areas and making this one a bit more presentable.

Thanks! That was my first Toyota, and the one that got me hooked on Toyotas. Put 225K on it before I sold it.

I saw a few other non Toyota’s in this thread so thought I’d share. 8A9A25CD-5EC0-4F9B-9AF3-F91AF1B7B75D.jpeg

I couldn’t afford the Toyota I wanted and came across this old 720 and pulled the trigger. 7D123B4D-09F0-4859-9112-FA3FA9B32622.jpeg
It’s my daily driver and I use it for climbing trips around the Sierra. AAF0E8D5-B5EE-49F0-8FFA-33A141FF8532.jpeg

I also run this old dr350. 5 friends and I did a 2000 mile moto/ skateboarding trip this summer linking up forest service roads from California to Oregon and pavement along the coast on our way back down. This 98 was the newest bike on the trip and the oldest was an 84.

Old stuff rules!

That's quite the difference, looking good so far! I like that you resprayed the fenders to get rid of what appears to be mock flares with bed liner. Good choice.
The PO did some really questionable things with this truck. The fenders were some kind of combination of por15, bedliner, and tar. We had to torch it to melt it off, then re paint the entire truck. It was a mess.

This is the mostly complete truck on it's way to Baja for the winter:

Ugh. This makes me want a first gen runner so bad that I can taste it. Maybe I can convince the wife to ditch her Outback with heated leather for one. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Looking forward to watching the build dude. (y)

Sweet old Nissan. Cant remember, does it have the Z24 engine with spark plugs on intake & exhaust side?
