I have been extremely happy with the equipment so far, but for far more practical reasons specific to my travels. The bodies are small and the lenses are even smaller. The E-3 is the most durable camera I have ever used, both from the dust and the drop, crash, bang, water perspective. The camera fell from three-feet two days ago, not even a scratch. . .
On the image performance side, it is not as good as Canon, but not in ways that matter so much. The one area that is notable is high ISO noise. I would say Canon is twice as good in that regard. i.e., at 400 ISO, canon will be at 800 ISO for the same noise.
I am planning to get the EP-2 for my trip through eastern Europe and Asia this summer. Even more compact and shoots HD video.
