OME rear sag question

Hey everyone, I'd love some advice on suspension issues. A year ago I added a stock OME 2" lift kit to my 2010 Tacoma Double Cab. I have a Snug top shell, Yakima basket mounted on that and an Aluminess rear bumper. On occasion I tow a Sierra 4x4 trailer for camping excursions. The truck has done light offroad trips but mostly fireroad stuff. I've noticed recently that the ride has become rougher when hitting bumps (although freeway driving still seems fine) and the leaf springs seem to have flattened out considerably. I don't have suspension experience but to my untrained eye they almost look slightly inverted. I have also just purchased an Engel and was planning on building out the bed, but am now somewhat nervous of adding more constant weight. My question is three part: Firstly, is this type of sagging common with OME suspension kits, secondly will adding an extra Dakar leaf solve the issue? Thirdly, is the Hellwig add a leaf system worth looking at? I intend to call ARB to discuss but any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Andy

Yes, yes, dunno.

This is common with the Dakar leaves. It's actually how they're designed. Once settled they are designed to have a static arc that is pretty flat. That allow for optimal ride and travel. However, they lack the necessary load capacity. Adding the OME add-a-leaf will solve your problem. I had the same issue with my 2003, and I know owners with the same experience with newer model Tacomas like yours. If I were you I would call Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters.....or maybe he'll post up here. Very few people that know as much about the ARB/OME products as Kurt.

All I can say is that I had the same symptoms and concerns with my truck, especially when I added my Snugtop. After the AAL, all sag was gone and I could actually carry a load without bottoming out on the bumpstops. I noticed no negative effects in ride quality after the AAL.

Skip the Hellwig. The extra Dakar leaf will fix your problem. We carry more weight for camping than what you've described. We have OME 886's in front and the Dakars with extra leaf in back. The ride both on and off road is excellent.
