OME Springs

About 6months ago, I put a Budget Boost lift on my 1996 Grand Cherokee. I got about 2" of lift. Anyways I put some 31" BFG At's that filled the wheel wells well (ha). I don't have any rubbing except at full lock to the right where the passanger front tire makes contact with my lower control arm. Anyhow I've been planning on adding a Hanson winch bumper in the near future and realize the added weight will sag my front end. I would just like to add a set of OME 1" (ish) coil springs on all for corners to resolve any sag and clearance issues.

HERE IS THE QUESTIONS:

1. I only have the 4.0L 6cyl, do you think I need to go to the OME heavy spring for the weight of the winch and bumper?

2. Do you think my (newish) 2"BB shocks have enough travel in them for the added height of the new coil springs?

3. Who should I buy my OME springs from?

I normally dont like to comment on vehicles I dont have experiance with, but here it goes:

1. I belive the 4.0 is the heavest motor option for the Grand. With the addition of the winch and bumper, I would go heavy duty coils.

2. If you are increasing ride height, check after install to see if your shocks fit the bill. If they are too short I recomend OME long travel shocks.

I'm moving (slowly) toward lifting my TJ. When I have the cash available I will get it done. I'll be getting OME springs as well as a small body lift.

I've done quite a bit of reading on different forums and one name kept coming up. Dirk at DPG Offroad. Link to DPG
I haven't seen anything negative about their products or service. Everything I've seen about them has been extremely positive.

When I get ready to buy, I'm going to drive up to Wichita and have them do the install as well. I lack pretty much everything required (skill, place, tools, desire) to do it myself.
Thankfully I have family up there so it's convenient for me.

I would also recommend Dirk. I puchased a set of OME leaf springs from him. His customer service is excellent. I would suggest calling him and seeing what he recommends for your application. He could probably also tell you if your shocks will be long enough. He seems to be knowledgeable with the OME products.

Did they not have the V8 in the Grand in 96? If so that would be heavier correct?

They had the 8, but the 4.0 is heaver then the SBC (small block chevy) ie 305 and 350.

I've bought both an XJ and TJ OME kit from Dirk. He is very knowlegeble about the OME line and could probably give you the answer you are looking for about different weights. Prices are good too. I don't know enough about lifting grands, but the advise Dirk gave me in the past has been right on.

I can recomend OME stuff i would get teh hevey duty springs for shure. your shocks will work but i waould recomend long travel how ever if this is not a big deal to you run what ya got.
