Wow, great photos. We went up to Laurel Lakes a couple of years ago but I've never been to Coyote Flats. Looks like an amazing place. Thanks for posting.

Nice report, can't believe how little snow there is up there right now! Funnel lake is a bit underwhelming. Never even got a bite there, other than mosquito's! Fun playing with those little Marlin 795's ain't it?

I agree! I was expecting to see much more snow. I don't agree on the fishing part, we did well at Funnel and killed at Rocky Bottom (above Funnel - hike) last time we were there.

Hah! Thanks for revising this thread. It was a great memory and this weekend we will be heading out to make an even better one. We're getting married in Butte Valley (a little valley in the mountains that border Death Valley to the west) this Tuesday, the 2nd of April. I can't wait! If you're out there and see a small party stop by and join us.


Greart pics as well you guys. I hope to get back and do some fishing at funnel lake. Even if the fishing sucks it'll be nice to drink some beer and pretend to fish...
