I think the problem is that to ship that battery will put the total cost of the item higher than someone could go and buy one locally.

Nothing personal...just a heavy, expen$ive item to ship.

I am battery dumb....I am looking to add a second battery in my 100 and a charging system. Of the Optima's which is the better one to use for that application? Red? Yellow? Blue?

There has been a lot of negative comments on this website about Optimas. My personal experience is with a Red top purchased in 1998 to go in a Samurai. Worked great until I swapped a lesser battery in it and got rid of the Samurai in 2004. Then charged up the Optima and put it in my cabover camper. It worked great in there until last month on a trip to Glacier Ntl Park where I ran it down. Bought a WalMart cheapo replacement.

We were driving around back roads near Whitefish when a young couple flagged us down. Their battery had died and they needed a jump. I pulled the Optima out and used it to start their old truck. Then I just gave it to them rather than haul it around.

My only problem I ever had with the Optima is when I would run it dead. It takes days to charge it back up to full. Outside of that, you be the judge if a battery should last 10 years or not. I also love the fact that it never corroded the terminals.:wavey:

Still have this for sale! Someone needs to take it.

$125 shipped for a new red top is a good deal.
