Optima Yellow Top Battery Question

Another option would be something like a Ctek 7002 at 8 amps. I have one and it does a very good job on my retired Optima Yellows, now just sitting in storage as emergency backups. I don't know if, by itself, it will work on batteries down to 2.5V as the Odyssey says it will. I do know that the Ctek brought back two or three Yellows that had been sitting outside for a couple of years. This Ctek is very compact and can be had as a refurb for around $85. Good value.

Maybe I missed something. Its you aux battery so Just drive around. Your alternator is a much better charger than anything and it will be forcing volts/amps into it since its directly connected. Dont you just have a switch to charge both batteries when driving?

** just went back and looks like you said its not auto connecting them. Id just use jumper cables and connect them both. What dual battery setup do you have? most will connect when it senses over 12.6 on a battery.

I do but since it happened all of a sudden I pulled it and am going to have it checked out to make sure that I don't have a bad cell.
