Opus Owners in Cold Weather

Opus Op2/Op4 owners how cold have you had your trailers with the furnace? Do you empty your water when the lows get to around 32F or do you push it a bit lower? The nice thing with no interior plumbing would be just the concern of the tanks freezing and cracking. Does the furnace work pretty well in the mid 20's?

I don't own an Opus but the 20g tank in my camper is exposed to the elements. I don't make a habit of camping in cold temps but occasionally the night time temps do dip below freezing. I don't think the large volume of water will freeze unless I'm in the cold temps for many days. Perhaps the top layer of the water will freeze over. However, the water in the line may freeze until the day time temps come up. Thankfully, I ran the hoses inside the camper so they don't often see freezing temps.

Hopefully this helps somewhat!

We have an OP4. We've had 2 different 3 - 4 day trips where the temps got down to the mid-20's at night. Day time temps would warm up to 50's. Furnace works great and puts out good heat, although we only used the furnace in the morning when my wife was getting dressed. Never had an issue with waterline freezing at those temps.

Hope that helps.

I have an OP2 and we've been on trips when the temps were below freezing. I drain the water system before the sun goes down and the water heater has to be drained as well. The furnace works well, but the fan on it is kind of noisy. It bothers my wife but I sleep through it
