Awesome rig, I have a soft spot for Grands, they are sweet. Hopfully, you remove the chrome wheels.

That is a really clean looking Grand! Makes me miss my old one. I have had thoughts about buying another and if I did I would go with the Clayton Long Arm rather than the Iron Rock Offroad that I installed on my other one. The hybrid 3 link that the IRO had prevented me from swapping to a Dana 44 in the front, but it all was bolt in so that was nice.

This one has the varilock axles. So ill probably keep them. I have a jk on 37s for real wheeling. This is gonna be a back country cruiser.

I've been looking for a good lift. Torn between the iro 3in or a 2in. Really want to run jk take offs.

If you are wanting 3 inches I would encourage you to look into the ome HD setup. This set up combined with new isolators will easily net you 3 inches + and allow you to run the jk takeoffs that you are looking at. Combine that with an adjustable track bar and set of quality shocks (i run bilstein 5100) and you have the basis for a great dd/ww. I would caution you against going over 4 inches as the $ to do right rapidly outweighs the return (death wobble becomes a very real issue at lifts above 4 inches as the stock geometry just wasn't meant to handle it well). All that to say, you have a great foundation there for back country explorer that is still civil enough to drive to work on Monday mornings. Glad to see more wjs out there. Good luck.

I had the Varis mine too but since the previous owner didnt use the right diff fluid I think it messed them up. Eben after the right stuff they didnt work.

I did the 6 inch IRO with 35's on 15 inch steelies and didnt experiance death wobble until I was pulled out of a mud pit by my tie rod, which messed up my stock steering stabiliser. Managed to straighten out my tie rod and drive it home but hit DW which wallowed out the body side track bar mount. Once I fixed that the DW was gone.

The only other thing needed was an extended drive shaft.

I have IRO 3" kit with adjustable track bar, all 8 new isolators, moog super trail boss steering stabilizer and bikstien 5100's waiting to be installed. I have a set of JK take offs in the backyard that I will run with them too.

Wheels are gone as soon as I figure out a lift. Was thinking 3 in and jk Rubicon take offs
Perfect. Have a look at quadratec Moab wheels, very nice, and look just like the JEEP ones but have more offset for bigger tires. Plus the price is very reasonable too.

Nice score! 4wheeler or Offroad X4 did an article about a WJ build recently. Might be worth a read.

Sorry I dont. I read the article in the magazine, not online

As far as the roof rack I have no experience but my grandfather always said "You can make anything fit, as long as you have the knowledge or bank accout"
