OT - Military Junk Yards

Sorry for the off-topic but you guys seem to know your way around the military salvage yards. How do I find and contact the ones located in or near Southern California?

I need to rummage around for miscellaneous odds and ends for a children's exhibit we are creating.

let me know if that takes you where you want to be. There is a yard I beleive is still open to the public out in Barstow at the Marine Base. (big and medium stuff)

Might go over to steelsoldiers and see what they have listed for south california. I know there is a big place somewhere out near Barstow, but can't remember the name of it off the top of my head.

G503.com is a mil specific web forum with lots of people with knowledge. Locale areas may be right around your corner. Also look into the MVPA (Military Vehicle Preservation Association) for help as well. There are chapters in this org everywhere.
