Just stumbled into this forum for the first time. It's great seeing everybody's family.

Last year we had twin girls, now 14 months, about to be big sisters :Wow1:. I think we have started them off right, with a love of travel! Here are a couple pictures from the last year.

Fremont Miners Retreat Cabin, Fremon Power Station, Oregon

We rented the Miners Retreat Cabin in Oregon. It's a national forest cabin. The cabin had electricity, refrigerator, hot showers, and a large kitchen. We sure enjoyed 3 nights and 4 days.

Here is a snippet from the national forest website:

"Fremont Miner’s Retreat is one of three cabins located at the historic Fremont Powerhouse site near the town of Granite. The powerhouse was constructed in 1908 and after 59 years of continuous service, generated its last electrical power in October 1967. In 1968, the California - Pacific Utilities Company donated the entire complex to the U.S. Forest Service. The need for economic power surfaced in 1903 when the earnings of some local mines began to decrease. In an effort to operate the mines more economically, local waterpower was piped from nearby Olive Lake though an eight-mile long wood and steel pipeline to generate the much-needed electrical power. Fremont Miner’s Retreat was constructed in the 1930s and is listed on the National Register as a Historic District."

Airsoft training. My 2 boys spent hours chasing ground squirrels with their airsoft pistols. Squirrels were too quick for the slow bbs.

Looks like an awesome trip! Solid find on the huckleberries.
The huckleberies where amazing. I saw the campground on a map a few years ago. As we were driving away from Crater Lake, I saw a sign point to Huckleberry C.C. I took a chance hoping that it was the same campground. My wife was sleeping. Good thing as she hates steep mountain grades. It was almost a single track gravel national forest road. I was used to driving a Subaru Outback which would have been easy. However, we recently started traveling in a full size Ford van. I was not used to this huge rig. Once I made it to the top, it seemed easy.

The campground was covered in huckleberries. You could sit in once spot and pick a pint in ten minutes.

Hike in a wild flower meadow, Fish Lake, Oregon

The flowers were so amazing! We stayed at Fish Lake Campground in the Wallowa mountains of Oregon.
