It’s always nice to see kids enjoying their camping trip. But are the ones younger than 5 years old not a hassle to bring along?

Not at all. It's probably LESS hassle camping with the little buggers than it is having them at home. Never underestimate the endlessly facinating potential of dirt, sticks, and cool looking rocks.

My wife and I are trying to purchase our first true family camping rig. Looking at a Dodge 2500 Hemi with a camper shell. The goal will be to build a platform to sleep/store stuff, possible a RTT for the kids, or one in the cab. I grew up camping, have three daughters now, and I feel that the only way for my kids to not end up heading down a path of destruction as teenagers is to have an amazing relationship with us as their parents. Camping/Off-Roading/Exploring is the best and easiest way I can ensure quality time away from the TV, Internet, and cell phones!! It helps that the few hikes we have done with them they absolutely love! Will post pics ASAP after our first trip!
