Over sized Over lander Build Thread

Hello all!

I have been a supporter here for some time now and at the point when I joined my current jeep was too far into the build to bring everyone up to speed. Last week my fiance and I decided to trade it in on a newer model. Little did I know I would come home with a 2016 Hard Rock Rubicon!

While in AZ we fell in love with the concept of over landing. After visiting and meeting the amazing people behind Overland Journal and Adventure Trailers we were hooked. Almost every weekend we would pick a new trail and load up.

Although running 37's on bead locks isn't my vision of a true over land vehicle, I cant help my self when I see a big pile of rocks. Being from KY (and now back in KY) I only ever had mud and hills. True rock crawling in the west absolutely won me over. To top it off, we got the pleasure to take on the Rubicon before heading home(KY).

This is why it will be an "Over sized Over lander". Stay tuned!

Great looking rigs!
A good set of beadlocks and large tires means forward progress. That sounds like overlanding to me! :victory:
Will look forward to your build.

looking into ARB dual compressor mounts. Under hood or under seat. Has anyone used the under hood metal cloak bracket? They also have the Spod bracket that relocates the vacuum pump. Any suggestions/experiences?

I have the Synergy under hood bracket for mine and absolutely love it.
So happy to save that interior storage space (under seat) for something else.

That will be a nice setup! Opens the door to a lot of options as well.
I don't have any first hand experience with that lift, but people who do really seem to like it!

Finally got a little time to put somethings on! Got the Spod switches mounted but still waiting on the under hood bracket to arrive.

Also got my CB installed. Love this little bracket for the grab handle. It's a great way to get around drilling holes on the dash somewhere!

An upcoming trip to Moab has brought my attention back to my jeep. With only 28 days remaining I'm under
The gun. Soon I will have a ton of updates. But in the mean time here are some pics of the most recent installs.

Winch and expo banner. Check!
