SOAZ

Tim and Kelsey get lost..
I know what you mean. I think we have the same disease. I modded my old tacoma to the point that it was hell to drive on the highway and great offroad once you got there! Kinda pointless, but thats the disease!

So true! I think I'm finally coming to my senses and realize that I don't need to take every car to the extreme to optimize things at the expense of practicality. Some day I hope to have something like a slightly tuned WRX that will be practical and competent. Older and wiser.:p

thats what I tell myself too! Now I have a 4runner that is resisting being modded and my other car would be an old porsche or a subie! (once I can afford it. For now I'll just get an old triumph motorcycle)
Great minds! :friday:

Ummmm...........am I going to have to rent a trailer??

Just remember, it's a Tacoma, not an F650 longbed!!

No problem hauling gear, just le me know.

Mark, put me down as a maybe for a driver if you still need one, and I will Elle that weekend, so she will come along too. This could be fun.:smiley_drive:

Nah, man don't worry about it. I've got a driver for my truck, so we've at least got two. If Aaron makes it, that will help as well.

Fair enough. "Maybes" don't get put down. They might get made fun of, but they don't get put down. :) I hope you make it.

Some might find this enticing. I found this interesting page with 360 degree views of Empire Ranch. It's pretty sweet:

Also - I've updated the first post with participants. I'm going to work on getting a sponsor or two as well for some simple things like t-shirts, give this thing a little bit of officiality. Those of you who tell me "maybe" get listed as "definite" just as a suggestive measure :)

Date change: April 28-29, 2007
Attention fellas --- conflict with the original dates. I'm moving this back one week to the 28th and 29th. The good news is that Brooke will be able to make this one now. She'll be driving our Frontier. :safari-rig:

I talked with McVickers and he said he's likely out anyway.
Seth is still in, which rocks. Erin, Aaron - how does this sit with you fellas?

Is there such a thing as a mod who is NOT on their way to the big bad Arctic Ocean right now? If so, I beg for an amendment to the title of this thread for the new date.

Cheers,
Mark

Yes, there are several. But most of us do not have the permissions to edit outside of the areas we tend to. IIRC, Jonathon Hanson is still in town (more or less), and I believe he has all the authority needed to fix the title for you. You might want to send him a PM, I don't know if he is following this thread or not.

I highly recommend FlyingWil for all of your moderator and edit needs. His truck is in Texas and his wife is preggers. That Wil ain't Flying anywhere for awhile. I hear he's working on mods for his 3 hole punch.

But as far as moderators go, Wil = 5 stars and a lot of stroke. Including the ability to clean up your mess. :shakin:

The date change will work for me, but I do not have Elle that weekend, and she will be highly disappointed that she will not get to go camping. I might have to plan a small trip for the weekend before so she can go camping. She has been asking me to go camping for a couple of weeks now, and I hate to let her down.

With the date change, I might be able to make it. Maybe even with the family ... I might even have my 2m license by then (it at least gives me a goal).

Might, maybe, might.

Good enough for me! If two wrongs don't make a right, I'd say that three maybes/mights make a YES. Talk to the family, get 'em on board. That would be cool.

I do believe that late April should be very nice out there for photography.

Let's get this thing rolling again. I haven't hopped on my bike for about 4 or 5 weeks, so I biked in to work today. I'll attempt to do so twice a week.

From this page:
Numb genitals, burning pain in your crotch, bruised buttocks, saddle sores and raw, inflamed skin are some of the common problems cyclists have with their saddles.
That's a fancy way of saying, "Biking makes your crotch hurt." So I have some clever shorts with a padded saddle that look like this on the outside:

but like this on the inside:

So, if that doesn't excite you, perhaps this does:

Brooke and her sister will be driving our truck, and they will set up a tasty Saturday night meal. YUM YUMS. We'll have us a fun little fiesta in the mountains outside of Sonoita, Arizona that night. :camping:

My idea for those who want to drive is that they can cruise around to explore any of the open roads in the area or what ever. We'll meet at the campsite, and within the next couple of weeks, I'll provide a Mapsource or text file with the route to upload into your GPS unit (if you'd like one).

Again the new date for this trip is April 28-29, 2007

I have updated the first post with the list of people. If you want your name on that list, say the word.
