Very cool, I like that he is using "soft" luggage, instead of the usual panniers.

Slight hi-jack, have you spoken to the people in the Ford dually/camper in the background of these photos? I would like to read about them also, since you see so few BAT's (big american trucks) used for these types of trips.

Note that Tetsu is planning to be in Montreal by October, then ride as much of the East coast / SE as he can before making the dash to LA. He left Cusco, Peru this morning, heading north.

It is really quite a trip. He's a very interesting guy and has had many, many adventures on his dash around the world.

I should also add that when Tetsu made his rounds to wish everyone goodbye we surprised him with a special going away present.

In our food stores we happened to bring along some authentic Japanese roasted tea and some dried seaweed and sesame seed topping for rice. When he saw the rice topping his face lit up like a kid at Christmas and he exclaimed "Where did you get this? This is wonderful!"

You spend most of your time running alone, so the leisure days in a place like this when you have a brief sense of community are very nice.

It was one of those great moments in overlanding.
