Painting trailer

Just bought a nice 1946 bantam tc3 and it has a really nice military paint job. I want it to match my silver Jk. Do I have to be a painter to make it look nice or can I rattle can it? I've never sprayed with a gun and don't really want to start now but I want it to look nice and accomplish this the cheapest way I can.

Any help is appreciated.

Rolling on paint is much cheaper, easier, faster, and in my experience much higher quality than a rattlecan job.

with rattle cans you are apt or prone to get overspray which looks like crap

Harbor freight 12.99 HVLP gun simple and easy.
Sand it, Prime it, paint it!

Quality paint is going to make more difference than anything (besides good prep), in my experience. With a spray gun it's tricky to get a decent finish without a lot of practice, as said before you will probably get your best results with a foam roller.

If you insist on spraying, good lighting will really help...if you can't see how much material is building on the surface you are spraying blind.

You tune Harbor Freight HVLP and watch some videos.
I painted my 101A2 in the back yaed, Little overspray and good results.
I used a duel tank nail gun compressor that took time to refill but it worked.
Paint still looks good a year later.
