One of the EOD guys I worked with in 2008 had one of these. Super cool little thing, and he said the battery was from his smoke detector in the barracks that had 'died'. Would be great for backpack, and tent use for sure.

Those LEDs aren't built for efficiency like today's modern LEDs. Unless you have lots of 9v batteries to use up there are better options out there, although those will certainly work great. Try budget light forums.com for the latest good stuff or candlepowerforums for the latest expensive stuff.
