Just throwing this out there, not sure if it applies but is way more common than people think,.......Is there a mercury switch anywhere or a switch that is supposed to make a light come on when something is opened ? Under the hood or in a door, door jam or cabinet ? If there is & it's corroded or stuck in the supposed to be on position, that might be your problem.
