Paris to Calcutta: 16,000 KM and 18 countries

Father and son team, traveling without support, in an old relatively unreliable Porsche. I get this so far. Then there's the 16,000 kms / 10,000 miles 18 days part. Maybe 3 weeks is all the time they could get off from work. Good luck to them, particularly while driving in Afghanistan.

EDIT: It is 18 countries, not 18 days. My mistake, I edited the title to reflect that.

afghanistan? yeah thats not happening. Trip either stalls or they change the route. But it wont be through there.


ps. who said afghanistan up above? i doubled back over the list of countries and map and they do bypass it.
