Passenger Van camper. Window complications?

Seriously considering buying and having this thing shipped out to AZ for me. http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/5427187631.html Anyone here to talk me out of it? I talked to the guy and received a few more pictures. Being from AZ any bit of rust seems like alot to me, but I'm pretty sure by east cost standards the rust is pretty minimal. Appears to be surface rust on the differential, frame, and some of the rockers. Picture of the engine bay looked really clean and the interior was fairly clean. The idea of buying a vehicle sight unseen and having it shipped cross country is a very foreign thing to me and freaks me out a little bit. But this seems very much like the van I am looking for and is just about the right price.

as someone from the southwest, who bought a van sight unseen, flew to chicago to pick it up, and found some GNARLY rust, after looking at 120+ photos of all the van, it ended up being:

RUSTY
Resprayed paint
seals falling out
inner rockers missing from the rust
seat bases RUSTY

all sorts of bad stuff.

and it only had 38k on the ODO.

i have a saying, "you want it bad, you get it bad" and i wanted that van BAD. and i got it WORSE. i flew home, and the next day bought the van i have now, spotless in the rust regard, and was half the $, with less than 80k on it.

That would be pretty sweet. Can you get one of those inspection companies to go and check it out for you? you may be out $150-200 if it doesn't work out.

That GMC would be sweet but definitely out of my price range. I saw that big '94 ford van before, its about what Im looking for but the age scares me a little bit. Primarily for OBDII capabilities for diagnosing problems.

Although the 94 van doesn't have an OBDII port, the pre-OBDII vans do have codes for faults. You can get a reader on Amazon for like $25.

I think this might be the one. Not a glamorous lifted 4x4, but the smartest decision I think or an economical daily driver and expedition rig. Put a little bit of lift for clearance with some bigger tires and I feel confident in tackling MOST of the places I will want to go.

Thats a great color. I wanted a silver one also but the only ones I could find were in Minnesota and didn't want to risk any rust issues.
