Picked up a GPS - cheap!

The rig is just about done. Just need a GPS to finish it up (yeah right never finished!)... Anyways..I stumbled upon this on Craigslist... oldschool, in perfect condition -pristine (like brand new with all packaging still!) for $50.00!!!!!

Hey, it's not the best around..and its black and white (like i care) but for $50.00 it's great insurance on the next trip! I'll get a real GPS in a few months or so.

When i buy, i'll get a 276c.. but for now this is cheap piece of mind.

Nothing wrong with black and white. In fact, it's easier to see in bright sunlight. My cell phone has a color display and it's almost impossible to see at noon on a sunny day.

Isn't craigslist great? I got my Leer topper for $150 on CL. Sure, it's missing a back window, but even with the $250 repair cost I'm almost $1000 ahead of where I would have been if I had tried to buy a new one!

I use a $10,000 Trimble GeoXT GPS for fieldwork everyday (USFS-Forester). And personally, I think the color background sucks, even on sucha high-end unit. You have to be in next to perfect light to make anything out. I usually end up turning the background (color layer) off and just using the black and white.

And for 50 bucks, I would have jumped on it. Good Score!:Wow1:

This one is pretty sweet especially if it takes memory cards but you should still upgrade. Then I call dibs on this one, I'll give you $45 for it when you upgrade, hey I'm accounting for depreciation!
