After hanging out with Disabled Explorer's and the R2FJ's (Josh and Heidi) and seeing the quality of GCI Outoor's Pico Chair, we at Sierra Expeditions decided to become a dealer....

This is one sweet chair, folding to 1/16th its original size (think big oldschool laptop). The chair features drink holders, storage pockets, and the Chair Back Storage Caddy™ which doubles as a courier pouch.

Made from 600D polyester/nylon mesh fabric, aluminum/steel hybrid frame.
Weight: 9 lbs.
Size: 20'' x 3.75'' x 12'' closed.
Maximum weight capacity: 250 lbs.

You can download the instructional video here for operation visualization of its use.

We expect these to be shipping late this week :wings:

Dude those chairs rock!
I knew I loved them before this trip but now that I am using them 3-5 times a day opening, closing and storing them I will never own a different chair unless they improve this design! Which I am not sure how they would?

Funny thing is I knew noticed you could use the bag to hold things on the back...I hope I didn't throw them away!

Glad to see you have them as I have done my best to encourage folks to try/buy these as I think they are super cool.

I will try to snap some pics for you of them in use on the Continental Divide Expedition :)

You got my attention. And buyers of your first batch are going to get free shipping, 1 free with every 3 we buy, and a DVD of dancing desert scorpions?

Awwww, no? How about #1, then?

Geez, that's one pricy mo-fo of a chair! Looks nice and functional, though, and I could easily fit a couple in my Jeep...tempting, but pricey.

Pricey yes, but looks like a better package than others in the price, to include the Kermit chair. I am going to end up buying 4 of these suckers for my camp set.

250 lbs capacity? Where are all of these lightweight people from? :) Nice looking chair. I like the fold up design much better then the ones you have to struggle with to shove back in the tube bag... :costumed-smiley-007

We picked up a pair of these chairs ($99 ea) and have used them for the last two months. They are great! You can sit at a table and eat, without your legs falling asleep, or your back aching. Very comfortable, especially with some type of foot rest.

Highly recommended. :26_7_2:

250lb weight rating! So now you're discriminating against large bodied individuals. Well, we'll see about that. Anybody have the number for the ACLU :ylsmoke:

You know I'm joking right...

Yeah, being 6 foot 5 inch makes one a bit too big for standard issue stuff. I love the design of the chair but I am right at the weight limit.....do they make a larger version of the chair? Great design, but guess I will have to stick with my folding camp chair from a sporting good chain store....sigh.

I too will have to continue using the old faithful folding camp chairs due to the not-so-generous weight rating. Any "real man" size chairs from the same folks? I know I have broken enough of the normal acordian type chairs to be able to justify buying a couple of these, if they could support my fat ********.

GCI makes plenty of chairs rated 300#. This one (their Wilderness Recliner) is only around $60, weighs the same as the Pico at 9 pounds, but you give up the tiny folded size and the upright design that may be better for eating at a table. TANSTAAFL.

I use these chairs from REI, they hold up to 300 lbs. They don't fold as small as the Picos but they are comfy.

I know that some people do not care for REI because they can be somewhat less than supportive of off-road vehicles, but I find that they have good products and a generally knowledgable staff.

I agree. Somebody who works at my local store has a very nicely built Disco, and I keep meaning to find the person and ask them if their co-workers give him any guff. But around here, some of the best trailheads are on or at the end of 4WD trails, so it makes sense to recreate both ways. REI doesn't have any overt corporate OHV hate going on, do they?

If anyone is interested in any GCI product we can get them, right now our current shipment should include the Pico's and we ordered the remaining tables they had in stock as well. I need to see the tables before we can sell them, from the looks they look just like the ALPS one I have. Once they get our approval we'll be able to sell them, although they might be discontinued according to the rep we dealt with.

To order other products from GCI use the contact us form on our site.

Thanks,

Are you still battling the perfect chair war? I thought I saw you selling your Kermit's... Yikes...
