I've been looking for a good camping chair for a while. I was tired of them rattling in the back of rig & plastic connecting pieces breaking. Felt like I was adding a few chairs to the landfills every year. So when Lance of Disabled Explorers did a demo of the Pico Chair @ Hump n Bump I was Sold, I even took one for a test drive around the campfire - needed to know if it was comfy with easy ingress & egress. Went ahead & ordered a pair of them today from Wendy @ Sierra Expeditions. http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=554

The Pico is perfect for people over 250. In fact I have had three people dogpile on to me while sitting on it. Not a scratch or bend.

It's not spec'ed for >250, but at 260, it's very comfy for me. I just don't plop down hard into it. There are plenty of other chairs rated for 300 pounds - just nothing that collapses like the Pico.

Have yet to do my snow & ice test with these. Winter is over in Vegas in the 60s for couple weeks. Did use both my Pico chairs yesterday & they do very well in the sand even with us full figure guys :ylsmoke:

I gotta question that. I weigh about 300 lbs, and I've tortured many a chair into submission. The folding chairs tend to fail at the grommets where the front part of the seat is secured to the legs.

I have the "Big Boy" style chairs from REI, and they are only slightly better at failing later at night, instead of earlier when the camp fire is just getting going.

I'd love a easy to pack chair like the Pico for bigger men!

I'm a full figured guy 275# worth & in picture the stocky big guy in red tshirt is sitting in one of my Pico chairs. He also likes them & finds them comfortable. It's a well built sturdy chair thats compact when packed. Don't know how you are built, Only concern might be seating width.

So I'm a military officer getting ready to deploy to Iraq. I've had my Pico for a few months, and 2 other officers so far have bought this chair after seeing mine. Now that I have been able to field test my chair, it's become something to covet. I carry my laptop in the chair case with the chair as a carry on, and we often find ourselves during major movements waiting for hours in places like warehouses and aircraft hangers. I"m the one with the chair, whenever everyone else is sitting on concrete.

Anyhow, I'm starting to hear a ground swell around me for wanting to buy this chair. I'm sending everyone to Sierra Expeditions, so Wendy, get ready to be bum rushed by orders from North Carolina military members! An additional perk is that the sage green is almost a perfect match to the ACU uniform green.:victory:

One more Pico fan here. Saw them at a local surplus/camp store. Was a bit timid of the price. Asked the salesman if they were tough enough. He sat down in the chair and had his wife set in his lap. He said their combined weight was about 340. My wife sat in one and said we are getting two----now.
Almost afraid to take a chair this nice and put it in the trail rig, but beats collecting dust.
I will guarantee that if you buy one, everyone will want to try it out and want a take down demo.

We have a limited number of the Micro chairs. These are basically a tuned down version of the Pico, made by the same company. They were a custom made order for Costco, and feature the same features as the Pico's minus the mesh.... Blue only.

If anyone is interested in these chairs let me know via e-mail on the contact us portion of our website.

Now to just get the company to bring back the tables!!! Gosh they were cool!

I finally got a chance to try ours out and although they are wide enough for my size and seem well built, I nor any member of my family find them to be as comfortable as our current chairs. I honestly dont know if they will get used now that we have a larger vehicle platform that can carry our more comfortable yet little larger chairs. Those tables would be nice though!
