infra, do you have a build thread on that truck? It is great looking! What size Duratracs are you running?

Thank you, it's a constant work in progress. No sir I do not have a build thread on Brutus. I am no longer running those duratracs, but those were 285/70/17. I recently switched out to the Duractrac Kevlar MTR's in the same size.

Any particular reason you decided to switch to the MTRs? I've been thinking the duratracs will be my next tire. Also, Brutus needs a thread of his own. Great looking truck!

Thanks. Yes they are inflatables. I have 2 Alpacka packrafts that are stored in the trasharoo when out on expeditions.

Infra, which model pack raft if you don't mind? Are you solo with them? Any pics of them in use, please point me to them.

Thanks!

Why thank you sir! I have not made a build thread for Brutus because honestly I am too lazy to make one, I guess one day I should. I felt that the regular Duratrac's did not wear well on my truck, plus I was not overly satisfied with how they performed for me in the Arizona desert terrain and rocks we crawl on out here. A friend of mine had the Duratrac MTR Kevlar's on his rig and I was amazed at how they performed and how well they wore over time, so I decided that they would be my next tire for Brutus when the time came. So far I have been very pleased with them and I would not hesitate to go with them again when the need arises.

They make several different models, I have an Alpacka Yukon Yak and an Alpacka Alpaca (their smallest packraft). Both my packrafts are solo packrafts equipped with their "cruiser" style spray decks, however they do make regular traditional whitewater spray decks as well as many different models of packrafts some of which can fit 2 people. They are great pieces of gear, but spendy for what they are and as with everything the prices have gone up on them over the last couple of years. You can find them at http://www.alpackaraft.com/index.cfm

Not the best of pictures but here are a few on solo trips I did last year on the North Buffalo Fork river north of Jackson, WY (9 mile hike in and 16 miles of class III and class II whitewater back to the campground), as well as on the Snake River through Grand Teton NP last year. Last picture is paddling Kintla Lake in Glacier NP

Well you just sold me broham!!! Reviewing their selection got me all giddy and so it was just hard to gauge the size scale. Plus...they are having a Spring Sale to push room for the upgraded versions.....

In the pictures you posted, that is the Cedar Green?

Minimum accessories to get as I'm looking at the Llamaaaaa.

Sorry for the OT here, but others must also be interested too!! ;)

Yea I apologize to everyone for getting off topic here, we can take it to PM if this bothers people.

Yes my yak pictured is their cedar green model. If you plan on running any white water then use their sizing scale for your choice of which model, your feet will be used to brace against the bow of the packraft to help maneuver it in white water.

Definitely do not purchase the sawyer 4 piece paddle, very over priced for what it is plus I have broken 2 of them. The carbon aqua bound is a good paddle for what it is and it's price point, but if you plan on paddling much white water and you are an advanced to expert skilled paddler then you should look into a 4 piece Werner straight or a 2 piece Werner bent shaft at least 210cm.

If you will be running any white water look into getting at least the "cruiser" style spray deck or the white water spray deck.

The cargo fly is a neat add on if you plan to do any extended back country white water trips.

PM or email me and we can talk about it more if you have more questions.
