Out in Utah and got caught in a canyon durring some unexpected rain. This red clay turns to the slickest nastiest mud ever. 10miles from the nearest paved road made for a fun day using all our recovery skills/tools! Best part was the 50ft drop off the left side of the road and the hairy switchbacks!

You’ve got to watch the desert mud. I was so surprised as I’m moved to Utah from Georgia and thought my greasy clay mud was done with.

And of coarse I’ll add my van for the thread as well

Got a CCV top put on back in early Feb. Finally starting to melt out of the snow cocoon enough to get some photos. Now it's time to start the interior rebuild!

How many stucks, and off camber/sloping to the downhill white knuckle sections. More pics.

Way to put those Crocs to work.

Had to put the back strap on to lock them bad boys in 4x4 mode

I slid off the trail once and winched right out. My buddy in the green van got stuck twice, but one of those times took three max track attempts to get him out. He was in the bank on the high side of the trail with a drop off on the other side. The problem wasn’t traction. It was the fact that our front tires couldn’t stare the vehicles, once you got out of the main rut it was hard to get the rigs to steer back into them.

Didn’t take too many photos as we were covered in mud haha. 776DB8AB-A99C-44BE-849C-6346B12BAFBF.jpegFCE5E773-F698-48C1-BFC9-C9FB4CD0B8E7.jpeg61DFE93C-7E92-4406-8A65-096517AAC545.jpeg

I'm impressed, both you AND the missus are still smiling! That's a good attitude!
Those situations seem to usually makes tempers short and attitudes testy lol

I recently purchased a 2006 Chevy Express 1500 AWD with about 84,000 miles. I am planning my first big trip with the wife and my 2 adult kids this summer. Then the next big trip with it will be MT mule deer hunting with friends this Nov.
It does have 1 bench seat but I want to put 4 captains in it.
