Went to moab this weekend, and I spotted about 10+ 4x4 vans. I was driving, so I wasn't able to snap a pic of all of them, but I recognized a few from here.
Here's the only pic I got. FrED on the left, blue quigley van on beadlocks on the right. Dead Horse Point state park. Really nice owner.
2006, ford e150, side barn doors, 4.6l, auto. 78k miles.
plans for this are:
-a camper interior, bed, storage, cooler, maybe a sink, but mostly just so i can get off the ground when i camp.
-some bigger tires, and if $ allows, a 2wd lift, probably a weldtec 4" bent beam kit.
heres a pic from yesterday when i went and looked at it and drove it, picked it up today.
thanks, I'm looking forward to it. had an identical van to this in 2007/8 but when gas got stupid ($4.50/gallon) i couldn't keep it because i was driving like 200miles a day. now my commute is down under 15/day, and I'm ready for van action again.
Wanted to add some storage to my barn door, decided to go with an old REI frame pack from a used gear store. I removed the frame and just popped it in place with the top two plastic push darts to try it on for size. I need to attach it more securely to the door but it's a pretty nice fit, was less than $20, has lots of pockets and quality zippers.
Helping out a fellow traveler by towing out his car trailer from Mike's Sky Ranch after a good rain storm. Gertrude is 2WD, but at 25 psi in the Treadwright mud tires and 1000 pounds of gear in the back, plus the weight of the fiberglass top, extended body etc, she climbed up the hill without hesitation.
