Went on a 3 day CO tour, from the Boulder area (home) through Crested Butte and then Owl Creek Pass in the Uncompahgre national forest (which is gorgeous). My wife, sons (20 & 13), our Boston, and myself.

Photos not quite in the order they occurred, but whatever...

Getting back into the van game! Here's our 2019 Transit 350 2wd. Started as a passenger van that I striped to match my rallycross Fiesta. Took out all the seats and made a bed platform. Added the vent fan and roof insulation. Next was wheels and tires. Then I built my roof rack using 8020 and custom SLS 3D printed corner pieces I designed and had printed. Solar panels and a house battery system are next.20230616_155131.jpg

A few photos of our 2008 E350 Extended, converted from 15 passenger van to our 4x4 explorer. It’s been about 2.5 years of work so far. Still need a grey water tank, paneling on doors, trim all around and final lighting, but it’s otherwise super functional.

Made a quick trip to Chaco Canyon in NM to see the eclipse this weekend. Wife, youngest son, and pooch on board.

Left the Boulder CO area after work on Friday, camped outside of the park on BLM land/parking lot (arrived at 1:30am), viewed the eclipse in the park (so cool), toured some Pueblos and pictographs, then made it back to southern CO to camp (Pagosa springs area_ great dispersed camping there), and home Sunday by 4:30pm....

About 850mi total. Fill-ups saw 18mpg, 19.5mpg, and 20mpg (410mi on the last tank, with ~5ga still left)

Yes, I recently waxed Hedy. She's shiny and smooth.

Took some phone pictures through binoculars that we taped solar glass film to... worked alright.

Just imported from BC this 1997 Delica LWB diesel with 38k miles! A minivan with lo-range, my dream vehicle! Planning a minimal camperization that retains the seats, so it can still be used to move people, but with heat and insulated curtains for winter camping. Need to bombproof it before we take it too far from home, which is an interesting problem for an older vehicle with such low miles. Also in the future are front swivel seats, 30-31" tires, a 1" lift, vent fan, custom bumpers, wvo conversion, and a roof rack.
