While a 16" I'm afraid those are 7" wide.

Does it make a difference? The reality is, I doubt anyone would be able to tell the difference from a picture.

Also you didn't ask for a 'front' or 'side' view nor do we know what you're hoping to put them on so we can't even advise you on clearance issues or provide anything insightful.

I think he wants to see if the sidewalls sit outside the rim or are tucked more to the inside.

I have 16x8 wheels and will probably go with 255/85-16 next; hoping to get back 1mpg...

The expeditions west taco was running 255/85 on 16x8 steelies, i'm sure you'll find plenty of pictures there.

I think the overall effect will vary by tire as well.
A BFG would have a different proportion than a Toyo MT and a Cooper ST...

Which naturally makes me wonder why there's such a huge swing in prices for tires in this size. The Summit Mud Dawg (Maxxis Bighorn) is $57 less than the best price I can find for the Toyo; and Trxus is down there in price along with the Coopers.
Are the BFGs & Toyos that much better?

I'm sure construction plays a part in the price, as well as reputation. In this case load range is a factor as well, In the 255 size the Toyo and the BFG are load range E and the Maxxis and Cooper are load range D.

You really have to shop around to get the best price. I got a quote from LesSchwab on 5, 255 Toyo MT's mounted and balance on steel wheels and it was over $2200. Ridiculous.

The same "package" of KM2's through Discount Tire was $1417.

At $800 savings it is worth a little leg work.

Mine are mounted on 16x7's otherwise I would be more than happy to slide some pics in here.:)

Yes profile shot would be ideal as 33's look the same from the side. I say post what we as a expo community have available to post. Tires I'm considering are the KM2, Cooper ST, Maxxis MT's and so on. Yes a 7" vs. 8" rim width will make a difference (to me).

Perhaps but my point is there's simply too much variation between tire models to conclude that from a simple picture.

Tire construction, tread design, tire pressure, actual tire size (versus the stated size), and the weight of the vehicle will play a big role in how much they compress and what they'll look like.

As an aside, wow how tire prices are simply extreme. Knowing someone in the industry really pay's his/her weight in gold!

Lets stay on point, I would like pictures of 255's on 16x8 period. There are less than 10 255's on the NA market how hard could this be. I was able to produce a few shots from ih8mud, which included BFG MT (KM) and Toyo M55. Sidewalls vary but not by not enough in this size class to make a difference to me.

Right... keeping it on point... ;)

Seriously my point is you're leading yourself down a trail to nowhere by looking at these pics because there are too many variables you're not taking into account.

But that said, if you can discern what you're looking for through this exercise, all the more power to you.
