Pintle Lock Recommendations?

Looking for a pintle lock for my m416 trailer.

Here's a few I've found, but I'd love a recommendation from somone on ExPo:

Lock

I have the same trailer,same problem. I run a 1/2 inch chain in the ring several times and place the biggest padlock I could find,works fine but I like the others too.

After looking at those prices... I would build something similar!

Plate on top, center piece joining a bottom plate that would slide off and use a round padlock to secure it.

You'd be in to it at the most $15

At work we use homemade locks like described. Almost round top piece with a piece of flat bar welded to the under side, this passes through the pintle ring and the flat bar passes thought a slot on the lower round piece and a lock is inserted through a hole/slot in the flat bar. We do not use a round/circle lock but I think this would be best or boxed in like the ebay example that you posted.

I have seen the Ebay style in use around heavy equipment trailers. Seems good enough.

Went ahead and bought the lower cost one on Ebay. Will report back after I get it.

Got the Ebay pintel lock listed in my first post above. Was $45 including shipping. Seems fairly well made. Not sure it's totally secure as it seems like you could still get a pair of bolt cutters on the padlock, but it still looks like a fairly good deterrent.

I take my drop hitch

drop it through the loop and run the hitch lock through the hole in the drop hitch.

That is a great Idea and no need to buy anything extra.

That's not the hitch I use since its a pintle
But the ideas the same I take the pintle drop hitch and put it through the loop.
