Planned Tundra build...... Is it correct?

Im looking to add a light lift to my 2013 crewmanx TRD 4x4. The truck will be used for off roading around Arizona and also to pull a smaller camper trailer (5000 lb GVWR). The off roading I do can be mostly done in a stock Tundra but I want a little extra room.

Suspension:
OME 612 setup - has the height I want/need and hopefully wont need UCAs.
Add-a-leaf rear - either Toytec or Icon.
Coachbuilder lowest shackle/bushing

Tires:
275-70r18, a small set up from my stock 275-65r18s which should keep it from having much of an impact as far as fitting goes.

So my main question is will this setup work? Im used the sports cars and this is my first truck so Im trying to learn everything all over again. Plus I was never highly knowledgeable on suspensions to begin with.

Is there anything wrong with just using the mid height shackles on my stock leaf spring?

Anything Im overlooking?

Couple of things you might want to consider...

What is your payload going to be? If it is going to be a constant load, I would recommend that you upgrade from the add-a-leaf to another set of springs. Initially, I bought a Toytec Ultimate lift kit with the add-a-leaf (instead of the 1" block), but then I noticed that my OEM springs were starting to sag under my load. I then bought some Coachbuilder 2" Shackles to address the sag. These addressed the sag, but not the inversion of my OEM springs - YIKES. :Wow1:

My have a shell, shelves, 2nd battery, twin air compressor, light bar, comms stuff and Bajarack. The cumulative weight of all of these items caused the sagging over time. Therefore, I upgraded to the Old Man Emu HD dakar springs & shackles along with Icon 2.5" reservoir shocks. I have not had any issues with this set-up and the ride is 'more supple' and improved.

I would recommend that you really put pen to paper and see what your combined total weight is going to be, including the tongue weight of your trailer, then work from there. Don't make the mistake that I did and 'upgrade redundantly'. You are at the right place for info regarding your Tundy. It is a great platform to build upon. Good luck!

Thanks. It's not being built into an expedition rig. As much as I'd love to build a ************ truck like yours the funding isn't there and won't be for several years. So there will be no constant load and the trailering will only be a few times a year for maybe 3-4 day camping trips in state. So likely it will ride on this lift for at least 4-5 years before Ill have the discretionary funds to build a true expedition rig.

What about the icon add-a-leaf? But at that price I'm getting close to the price of an OME leaf pack...
