Plywood bed in topper shell

Anyone still use the two pieces of plywood across the bed width under a topper? As a kid this was our bed. Two pieces of plywood about 2 foot wide stacked on each other when not a bed. Side by side for a bed. Thinking of doing this in my 2013 F150 with 5.5 ft bed. I am 5-7" so will need to get a bit cornerwise on the bed. Very seldom use as a bed, but convenient for a shelf. Pictures?

Was hoping that in the 50 plus years that I have used one of those plywood bunks that someone might have some newer ideas. I have a tow behind camper that is fully equipped for dispersed camping in comfort. This bunk would be for some off the floor storage and the possible one night stay. If I build a bed, the bed would be multi-purpose. Possibilities include a backboard for emergency use.
