Point and Shoot Camera Recommendations

Could you all recommend a good point and shoot camera for under $200.

Kind of dropped my camera back in October and since then it hasn't been quite right. It still takes photo's fine for the most part (kind of a crap shot if the photo's will come out gainy or not)and the lens doesn't always retract right (when I dropped it the lens was out and had to be popped back into place).

I am a Panasonic fan too.
These are from a DMC-TS1 point and shoot in Fiji.

The video is just as impressive, will try and load a bit.....

Photobucket did not do that clip any favours....the original is as sharp as the stills (but that clip was 65mb).

How is the trigger response time on that camera. The specifications and statistics are one thing, but we have found with kids too many point and shoot cameras have a lag from push to shoot.

We have ben using our Casio Exilim for 5 years and finally broke it, so I want to get a new one Excilim (they are super fast), but the camera you got was very comaprable in specifications.

When we test cameras, we have a person walk across the shot about 10 feet in front of the camera. When they pass a designated point, we push the button (no touching or prefocusing before that time (just turn it on and look), then we see where the person comes out in the photo. In our Exilim, the person may only be a few inches from teh spot, but in some point-n-shoot cameras we have tried they will not even remain in the frame.

We did this with a "very fast camera" owned by a friend, and they returned it the next day. Image record time and reflex was very fast, but response was very slow.

So you see why we test, kids won't do "that one thing" again.
