Poke a holw where?

I am looking to run power from the battery into the cab of my DII ('03) and was wondering where the best place to poke a hole would be? I will probably run 4 6 gauge wire in for my inverter(s).

IIRC, there is actually big empty rubber grommet on the drivers side, just above the brake rod. Just put a slit, pull the wire, and seal with RTV.

Yup, I used that grommet to run the wire for my cb install. Replacing that grommet is a real pita though as it's under the master cylinder. Get someone in the engine compartment to push it in as you check it from inside the truck.

If you want to have a cleaner wire installation, use some firewall bushings. It's a heck of a lot nicer than goobering it up with RTV, not to mention that two 4 gauge wires probably won't fit through that one hole.
