The more info that comes along, the more it really points to an E1 as the best choice for you. Be patient and look hard. We got lucky and fell into ours locally and paid $6k or $6.5k. The guy was a regular (found out afterwards) on pop-up portal, and did a whole bunch of little mods to it that just make it really nice: LED lights, solar panel for battery maintenance, fan for the fridge condenser, as well as a slew of other nick knacks.

Point is, I too had debated building our own trailer with similar functionality to the Jumping Jack, or Costco Lifestyle or one of those trailers themselves. Then I looked at buying an "expedition" trailer and putting a rooftop tent on it. All the while I kept looking at E1s and the like. In the end, the wife liked the convenience and said that would be a winner for family action. Since I already did the research, I knew what to get and we got lucky and almost immediately found ours.

Here is the thread I did on asking the question: http://www.expeditionportal.com/for...-JKUR-pull-a-Coleman-Evolution-E1-comfortably

Might be some tidbits to help you there...

I had the starcraft 12 RT. It had a large front deck that easily held two 450 dirtbikes and lots of fuel. I towed it into some very tight spots and used it as a base camp. It worked very well and I would buy another one. The only reason I got rid of it was we bought a 4x4 van.

Good Luck

pop-up trailer

is that your trailer? what model - cobalt? did you add the diamond plate to it? bigger tires? any other mods? what do you think of it?

There are some nice factory models out there. I would research what you like than search for one.
Of as others have done modify an older model with a lift and bigger tires.

If you are talking about the Cobalt on the first page it came that way from top to bottom from the factory. The individual that ownes it can tell you what mods he has done but what you see in the pic is factory.
