The more info that comes along, the more it really points to an E1 as the best choice for you. Be patient and look hard. We got lucky and fell into ours locally and paid $6k or $6.5k. The guy was a regular (found out afterwards) on pop-up portal, and did a whole bunch of little mods to it that just make it really nice: LED lights, solar panel for battery maintenance, fan for the fridge condenser, as well as a slew of other nick knacks.
Point is, I too had debated building our own trailer with similar functionality to the Jumping Jack, or Costco Lifestyle or one of those trailers themselves. Then I looked at buying an "expedition" trailer and putting a rooftop tent on it. All the while I kept looking at E1s and the like. In the end, the wife liked the convenience and said that would be a winner for family action. Since I already did the research, I knew what to get and we got lucky and almost immediately found ours.
