Pop up tent trailer column supports

I have no idea if that is what they are called... did a little googling and came up blank.

You know the steel C channel pieces that are used to support the columns on a pop-up tent trailer? The ones that get popped in after the trailer is raised to the correct height?

How many of those does a trailer typically come with? I finally got my trailer dragged home and it only has two of these things. Should it have four (one for each post/column)?

Per usual, used dealer had no idea so I'd rather deal with it myself.

I don't have anything resembling that description on my junk.

So maybe you should say:
what tent this is referencing... maybe post a pictar or sumthang. ;)

Well, if that video is your trailer then you don't have a pop up tent trailer so that would explain why you don't have anything matching what I am describing. ;)

Machine in question is a Starcraft 11RT. The roof is supported by four telescoping columns. The guards or supports for the columns is what I'm interested in. I'm told by a friend that the supports are used on most (all?) tent trailers nowadays.

Anyone have any insights?

Hmmm... I have been through 3 tent trailers and I have no idea what you mean. Everyone I've had, you simply crank up the roof and your done.

Common sense tells me that if you have 1 or 2, then you most likely will need 4, one for each column as you said.

Perhaps we here could be more helpful if you post up pics. I did a search on the web for "Starcraft 11RT" and could not see anything like you described.

Two are all I ever had with my two pop up campers( bought one new). Put them in opposite corners you'll be all set.

Yep, they come with 2 (if they come with any) and they go on opposite corners.

Basically a 'failsafe' system, in case the lift cable breaks, the top won't come crashing down on you while inside.

Of the 2 new Starcrafts I've used, they each only had 2.

Ok, thanks guys. For a while there I was wondering if I had some exotic part that no one had ever heard of before. I had put them on opposite diagonals so I guess all is right with the world.

Thx.

Another confirmation.

I've had two different pop-ups and they've both only had two. I used on opposing corners as well.

Does your camper have an awning? Are the polls intended for proping up the other edge of the Awning when you pull it out?

My family had a pop up tent trailer for a while, and I do not recall doing anymore than cranking it up as well.
