Pop-up Truck Camper Question

Four Wheeler Campers (FWC) are a forum sponsor and they are also very active on this forum as well. I find accessibility and a willingness to answer questions publicly a bonus.

I keep going back and forth from changing to FWC or going back to a Jeep and adding an AT Habitat top.

Don't forget about All Terrain Campers. They are in Sacramento as well. Basically the same as the FWC.....They focus on building rock solid campers...but don't have some of the bells and whistles that FWC has. Their customer service is beyond exceptional. Their units area fair bit cheaper than FWC as well. The company is run by a few guys that used to work at FWC.

Their is also Hallmark and Coyote R.V. I am also tossing around the Flip pack by A/T and a pop up camper. I vistited the 4 Wheel factory and will vist the two I mentioned as well prior to parting with my cash. All have +/- look for your intended use. I need COLD weather heavy snow use so the Flip pack is at the bottom right now.

It is important to look at your intended use. I love the way that the FWC and all-terrain campers are built for meadium duty offroad, but I need a camper that can stand alone. We might want to leave it in a campground and do some exploring in the truck, so now I have to look at other companies.

I just ordered a custom camper from Coyote RV for ski area parking lot use. 2" of rigid insulation in walls and floor and 4 layer pop up fabric and insulated inside window covers.

DanoT, keep us posted on how the Coyote performs in the snow. I'm planning some ski area parking lot nights in my Hallmark.

Also do you get harrassed by security when you do this? Do you know what resorts are friendly/not friendly to campers?

Be advised camping is illegal in little cottonwood canyon utah, this includes the 'town' of Alta and Snowbird. They patrol regularly in these areas and in winter time the avalanche danger can by high.
