Porthole Windows

Didn't think they still made em.

I might go that route, just for kicks.

When I got my new van last winter, my initial thoughts were to make a modern "boogie van"

That dream was crashed when I realized you can't really lower the front of an e series and maintain any sort of driveability over bumps. It's now been 4" lifted (2wd) but I still kinda like the port holes.

I'd never willingly put non-OE windows in, too many negatives. (For me)

If you're looking for opening portholes, there is one here (in stainless). You can even get a stainless "brow" or lip, if you want it:

They also have the option of fitting storm covers:

Or, there are of course, Vetus, who makes various sizes too, both stainless and in alu, and you can get "click-in" mozzie screens.

I'm not a fan of porthole windows, myself. Over 10 years ago, I made a quick trip to NY and noticed a bunch of vans with porthole windows and was wondering why so many people were installing these "ugly" things on their cargo vans and needed to find out. I asked a guy who had a van with portholes and he said they called them Parkway windows so they could drive on the NY parkway system.
